OUR IB DIPLOMA PROGRAMME
At La Côte International School (LCIS) Aubonne, our Year 12 and 13 students study for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). This two-year, pre-university diploma is an academically challenging and rewarding course which opens doors to the most prestigious universities worldwide. It pushes students to excel academically, socially, and personally, and gives them the best possible chance to succeed and flourish at whatever they choose to be or do.
Our students may opt for a single language (English) or bilingual (English-French) IB Diploma. All learners build their own pathway by choosing six subjects from the following subject groups: Language and Literature; Language Acquisition; Individuals and Societies; Sciences; Mathematics; and the Arts. In addition, students complete the IBDP’s core programme of Theory of Knowledge (critical thinking); Extended Essay (independent research); and Creativity, Activity, Service (personal and interpersonal development).
As a holistic international school curriculum, the IBDP sets students up for success in society through its global focus and comprehensive breadth of subjects and learning approaches. Our IB students build an impressive portfolio of learning experiences and accomplishments within and beyond the classroom, nurturing their growth as independent learners and global citizens.
