Happy Science Day!

Happy Science Day! - World Cup
Happy Science Day!
It has been wonderful walking around our Primary school and seeing some of the awesome scientific things happening in our classrooms. From our youngest children all the way to our Year 6 children, everyone has been putting their scientific skills to the test.

Down in Year 2, we have had our young scientists working hard to educate people about plastic pollution and why it is important for us to stop buying single use plastic. The children were very passionate about this and made amazing stop-motion videos to help get their message across. In Year 4 the excitement continued with our Year 4 scientists being given the exciting task of building and testing a raft. It is clear to see that this was not an easy task, but with hard work and determination, the children were able to put together a model which they tested in the swimming pool. It was a watery end for some of our rafts…

In Year 5 and 6, the children visited our Secondary School students and teachers. They got a demonstration in advanced science and marvelled at some amazing chemical reactions. It was a wonderful opportunity for our Year 5 and 6 students to see what they have to look forward to when moving to Secondary School in the near future. Our Secondary Science teachers were also able to get a glimpse into the future and see their forthcoming students in action.

It sure has been an exciting day of science here at Léman.
