On International Mother Language Day, a vibrant celebration unfolded at a secondary school as they hosted an outdoor music concert. Students and teachers came together to perform a plethora of musical pieces in languages ranging from Korean, French, Indonesian, Mandarin Chinese, to English. Against a backdrop of ease and enjoyment, students relished in the enchanting diversity of languages, experiencing the joy it brings. Moreover, teachers took center stage not only to perform but also to actively instill in students the values of respect, appreciation, and cherishment towards the diversity of languages and cultures.

To commemorate this special day in Primary School, the children took part in a language word hunt that inspired our young learners to think about the wide range of languages we speak in school. The aim was to encourage a deeper understanding and respect for the diverse languages spoken around our school and the world.
During the activity, our students were challenged to match greetings in different languages. With a time limit set, our students put their language skills to the test, racing against the clock to find the perfect matches. The atmosphere was electric, and the energy contagious as they collaborated, shared knowledge, and supported each other throughout the activity.
We were amazed by the incredible efforts and enthusiasm displayed by our students. They embraced the challenge with open minds, showcasing their curiosity, empathy, and respect for different cultures. It was a beautiful reminder that language has the power to connect us all, no matter our backgrounds. As we eagerly await this week's assembly, we can't wait to honour and celebrate the achievements of our young language explorers.
