Jessica Meyer’s visit at NAISAK

As part of the Juilliard-Nord Anglia Performing Arts collaboration, we have had the privilege of welcoming Jessica Meyer, our Juilliard curriculum specialist, into school this week.

Jessica spent time observing Ms. Laura Opperman teaching and gave feedback on her use of the Juilliard Creative Classroom. This series of works and resources are excellent additions to our curriculum and the music department is working hard to embed them into our lessons effectively.

During her observations, Jessica spent time showing the students how to improve their sense of pulse with some games and exercises. Jessica also gave an informative session speaking to the Secondary Students during their lunch break on Sunday and talked about her path to being a professional musician and Juilliard Alumni and what inspires her to compose.

The students always get a lot out of these visits through finding out even more about our core works, listening to a professional violist and having the opportunity to take part in some really engaging workshops. We look forward to Jessica’s next visit to NAISAK in April when she will be working further with students and staff.
