Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a Pirate? Well, our year 2 children have been finding out all about Pirates and life onboard a Pirate ship. They have been learning a special story about Kassim and the Greedy Pirate and thinking about designing their own sinister Pirate Captain.
This learning came to life last week when the year 2 children were visited by some REAL pirates who looked suspiciously like some of our secondary students. These Pirates showed the children some pirate moves and took the time to talk to our year 2 Pirates about what life was really like as a Pirate. The year 2 children spent some time writing questions for the Pirates and the pirates even recruited a new year 2 pirate as part of their crew based on who did the best pirate actions such as walk the plank, shark attack, climb the rigging etc.
It was great to see primary and secondary students working together in our community. Year 2's had a fantastic time and didn't even realise that they were learning. Thank you very much for the secondary students and teaching staff who were involved.
