What I absolutely adore about Abu Dhabi is its captivating blend of enchanting weather, providing the ideal environment for both personal and professional growth. The city's array of outdoor activities adds an adventurous touch, and the excellent sport facilities and clubs offer endless opportunities for sports enthusiasts like me.I also feel like the diverse cultures that converge here create a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere, making it feel like a true home away from home. 

WHAT EXCITES YOU THE MOST ABOUT JOINING NAS ABU DHABI?

The prospect of joining NAS Abu Dhabi as a founding teacher of such an exceptional school is incredibly exciting to me. Being able to contribute to the establishment of a new community on Al Reem Island fills me with a profound sense of purpose and anticipation. I’m also thrilled to work in the school's excellent infrastructure, surrounded by a team of amazing individuals that I can learn from. And to showcase the remarkable talent from our school, allowing our students to shine and demonstrate their incredible capabilities to the wider Abu Dhabi community.

WHAT ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO ONCE THE SCHOOL OFFICIALLY OPENS IN AUGUST?

I’m most looking forward to teaching swimming in the incredible swimming pools. The thought of building meaningful connections with our students and giving my utmost dedication to the school community brings me joy and fulfilment.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE THING TO DO?

One of my favourite things to do is to explore new recipes and create culinary delights. I particularly enjoy baking and experimenting with different techniques and flavours. The art of baking fascinates me.

WHAT DO YOU FEEL MOST PASSIONATELY ABOUT?

I’m passionate about spreading joy and love in every aspect of life. My utmost goal is to create an atmosphere of happiness and warmth, ensuring that those around me feel cared for and uplifted.

ABOUT FLORA VERMOESEN, PE TEACHER.

An enthusiastic PE Teacher with a decade’s worth of experience, Flora’s gravitated towards teaching and learning, safeguarding, and implementing positive behaviour strategies throughout her career. Working in both private and public schools has given her valuable insights and experience in diverse cultures and curriculums. Flora’s always been passionate about collaboration and fostering positive relationships, which draws her to things like helping organise whole school events, and building school networks to share resources.
