This month has been a series of celebrations of our students’ creativity and continued achievements around the world on our Global Campus. Here is a roundup of all the special events and announcements of what’s been happening in our global family of 42 schools.

Opportunities on a global scale

This month was marked by a very special announcement that we will be collaborating with one of the world’s most influential universities, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), on the interdisciplinary subjects of science, technology, engineering, arts and maths, otherwise known as STEAM. Our successful trip to the Cambridge Science Festival at MIT will be one element of this exciting partnership between Nord Anglia Education and MIT.

At the Cambridge Science Festival, over 100 students from Nord Anglia schools across the world worked together to create a massive chain reaction machine as part of this year’s Global Challenge. Students used everyday items such as paper boxes, tape and balls to create a series of reactions that ultimately inflated an AirDancer.

This event symbolises our philosophy for our schools and students to be ambitious. The competition engaged our students’ imaginations teaching them real-world problem solving through creativity and teamwork.

Nord Anglia Education would like to congratulate British International School, Ho Chi Minh City, the overall winners of this year’s Global Challenge. Their chain reaction machine took place throughout the school, not only involving the students and faculty, but the entire community as well!

Achieving more through creativity and challenge

This year’s Visual Arts Competition challenged students across our family of 42 schools to illustrate for the winning stories in the Creative Writing Competition last month. Students demonstrated their creativity with whimsical illustrations, sculptures, mosaics and photographs.  Winners of the Visual Arts Competition and Creative Writing Challenge will be published in an anthology later this year.

Excellence through inspiration

Over a thousand students participated in our Think Outside the Bucket Challenge after learning new drumming techniques through our performing arts collaboration with The Juilliard School. The Masterclass on bucket drumming was created by Juilliard guest artist Justin Hines who has toured and performed with professional ensembles internationally and on Broadway. The challenge required students to submit bucket drumming performances at a location that represented their local area. From China to Mexico, and Thailand to Qatar, students from Nord Anglia schools around the world showcased their rhythm in parks, subways and even under water!

What is the Global Campus?

Students at Nord Anglia Education schools are part of more than just one school. They join our Global Campus, connecting them with friends in 42 international schools around the world to learn together every day.

Through online, in school and worldwide experiences, we help every student explore the world, learn new skills and set their sights higher with an international perspective.

Global Campus Online is a secure and moderated environment where students can access to a wide variety of challenges and resources, learning with over 35,000 other Nord Anglia students around the world.

In addition to the outstanding curricula and programmes offered in our schools, Global Campus In School’s activities and competitions enables students to collaborate in teams to create innovative solutions.

Finally, Global Campus Worldwide takes learning beyond the school campus, bringing together students from around the world through truly inspirational experiences.
