Class of 2017: Best IB Diploma results in Phnom Penh international school’s history

The results of this year’s International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) were published across the world on Friday 7 July and students at Northbridge International School Cambodia are celebrating the best set of results in the international school’s 20-year history, exceeding the global average by the very significant margin of 4 points.

As Northbridge has grown in both popularity and reputation since joining the Nord Anglia Education family of schools, so too has the academic rigour, the examination results and the number of students under-taking the prestigious IB Diploma Programme, which is widely recognised as the world’s leading pre-university qualification.

Fantastic exam results 2017 – in statistics

  • Highest individual score: 44 points from a maximum of 45.
  • 34 point average for the cohort: up 5 points on 2016
  • 96% pass rate: +14% on 2016
  • 25 candidates entered the 2 year course: +118% on 2016

Porsiem Tang’s 44 points from a maximum of 45 places her in the top 2% of the thousands of students across the globe who completed this year’s IBDP, a remarkable achievement from the dedicated young woman.

The IB Diploma Programme is the world’s leading pre-university qualification. It is academically challenging and highly valued by top universities USA and Canada, the UK and mainland Europe, Australia and Asia. The university destinations of our own graduates will be confirmed over the next few weeks and will be reported on the school website.

The school’s Principal, Sarah Osborne-James commented: “We are delighted with our students’ results and so proud of what they have achieved. This is a shining example of their determination, strength and perseverance, but it is also an illustration of what can be achieved when teachers and students together embrace Nord Anglia Education’s ‘Be ambitious’ philosophy. This group of students have a very bright future in front of them, and so too do all those who are following in their footsteps at Northbridge International School Cambodia.”
