From the 12th – 19th December 2017 a number of our KS4 and KS5 students will be joining our other Nord Anglia schools and travelling to Tanzania. The aim of this expedition is to assist local people develop Sustainable Food Security.
Food Security is a key issue for developing countries and is identified by the United Nations as a Global Goal. The effects of this are no more apparent than in school environments in developing countries where students will often spend a whole day on limited or little food, and when food is available, it has little nutritional value. All this hampers student performance and motivation, seriously affecting their future prospects.
Our students who are partcipating in the Tanzania expedition are arranging so many activities to raise awareness and funds for this worthy cause and a large part of the forthcoming House Day (31 October 2017) Activities have been planned and executed by some of our Tanzania students. We would greatly appreciate it if you would consider supporting their efforts by contributing to their fundraising, which will go towards development of Food Security programmes in local schools in the Arusha region of Tanzania. Those of you who would like to assist could you please place a discretionary contribution in an envelope with your child’s name marked ‘Food Security in Tanzania’.
