Key Stage 2 - Years 3-6 (ages 7 to 11)

Our Key Stage 2 is an enjoyable time for students, as they begin to acquire more knowledge and skills such as independent learning, reflection and self assessment. We encourage our students to be academically inquisitive and to continue to develop as independent learners, showing initiative and leadership skills

  • A Day in the Life of Year 5

During Key Stage 2, our students make more use of specialist facilities, and subject areas like Science and Languages are developed. We create a learning environment in which students are pushed to extend and challenge their learning; to analyse and reflect; to take risks; and to develop intellectual confidence.

Students in these years learn the full range of subjects within the UK curriculum, including English (Literacy, Handwriting, Reading and Listening), Mathematics, Science, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Music, Drama, Humanities, Art, Physical, Social and Health Education, Languages and Physical Education.

Our students experience a wide range of teaching styles and activities - they may spend the day as a Roman or an Egyptian, cooking up a delicious meal or being evacuated as refugees.

Our scientists benefit from the equipment used higher up the school to refine their experiments, and our mathematicians enter local and international competitions. We invite artists from all disciplines to visit the school to work with our students and we have a great programme of musical and dramatic performances.
