Students are assessed continually throughout the year through the use of school’s Individual Learning Record (ILRs) reporting system. Within PE, the ILRs are broken into three main areas of assessment: Developing Physical Competence, Understanding of an active and healthy lifestyle and Evaluating and creating solutions. Within these three areas students are assessed on different requirements within each assessment focus. Teachers can then decide if the student has shown any evidence of meeting that requirement and this data is stored centrally on the school’s student management system ISAMs. Due to the flexible nature of the ILR statements, students will have opportunities throughout the year to demonstrate their ability to meet the standard of the relevant statements.
