I graduated from St Martins College, Lancaster in 2006, achieving a BA (Hons) degree in Primary Education, specialising in History.
After graduating I worked in a primary school in Manchester, England. I spent four years teaching in Year 2, with children of a wide range of abilities and nationalities. I then moved to Abu Dhabi to teach in a British School. I spent 6 years there - teaching Year 2 for two years before moving to Reception to broaden my experience and skills in the Early Years Foundation Stage.
I returned back to the North of England in 2016 to update my knowledge of the National Curriculum. I was a supply teacher and had experience of teaching years 3, 4, 5 and 6 before accepting a job as a Reception teacher and also gaining more experience in Years 1 and 2 within that school. I really enjoyed working in the Middle East and missed living in Abu Dhabi, so I decided to return in 2017. I was enticed to BIS Abu Dhabi by the ‘Be Ambitious’ philosophy, it soon became clear that at BIS Abu Dhabi the children are the centre of the learning.
I love my job and I am passionate about ensuring every child in my care reaches their full potential. I am a fun, happy person who loves to travel. Having been in the Middle East previously, I have been lucky enough to visit some amazing places and I am excited to see many more. I enjoy spending time with friends and family and going out for meals. When it’s time to relax I love to sit on the sofa with a coffee and catch up on Eastenders!
