I started my teaching career in 2010 where I graduated from Canterbury Christ Church University with a BA (Hons) in Primary Education, which specialised in Early Years Education. I have taught a variety of year groups in my hometown, Milton Keynes and have held Senior Leadership positions. The majority of my time was spent working with children in the Early Years and Key Stage 1.
In my previous school, I worked as a Deputy Headteacher in a school that was on a journey for rapid improvement. This was an extremely rewarding and challenging time for me. Ensuring that children had the best educational outcomes and that their personal development and well-being was of great importance. I have recently undertaken the National Professional Qualification for Headship and am a Mental Health First Aider.
I was looking for a new adventure and made the decision to work in an International school with my husband, Jamie. I was drawn to BIS Abu Dhabi as the school shares the same values as me - I love the fact that the children are put first, given the chance to be ambitious and taught to be global citizens.
I have always enjoyed travelling to new destinations. Spending quality time with friends and family is important to me. I am also an animal lover. Although, not very sporty, I enjoy being active by going on long walks to see new sights and going to the gym. In addition, I enjoy reading books and watching films.
