During my first five years after graduating I taught in a demanding, vibrant, inner city London school, which I believe gave me solid grounding in all areas of teaching. I feel as a result of starting my career here I have excellent behaviour management skills and have had the opportunity to attend training on some of the best courses in the UK. I mentored newly qualified teachers and over saw the teaching and learning of science within the school. I attended the year 6 residential annually and helped to organise and coordinate the running of this. I really enjoy seeing the children out of their normal settings, tackling new challenges and experiencing things they wouldn’t normally.
I was born and raised until the age of 8 in a small seaside fishing town in Cornwall. When I was 8 my family moved to Bahrain, where my love for the Middle East began. I attended an International School, making friends from all over the world. My years there were some of my happiest and I credit my achievements so far to the education I received there! My passion is travelling and experiencing new cultures. So, after spending 6 years in London teaching, I decided it was time to head overseas again.... a decision I have not regretted! Abu Dhabi has everything I loved about the Middle East all those years ago!
