Caitríona Morgan

Caitríona Morgan

Year 5 Teacher

Ms Morgan holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Primary Education with Edinburgh University, and has taught in South Korea, Ireland and China before moving to the UAE.

Ms Morgan’s journey into Primary teaching began after her first degree in the Arts. She undertook a TEFL course and moved to South Korea to teach English to children from 4 to 14 years of age at a private language school. It was there she met her husband, caught the travel bug and developed a love of teaching.

After some travelling, Ms Morgan embarked on a Postgraduate Diploma in Primary Education with Edinburgh University and went on to teach in Upper Key Stage 2 with an outstanding school. Ms Morgan returned to Ireland and completed a course of study on the Irish language, and taught in Early Years and Key Stage 1 for a number of years in a new school in Dublin. She coordinated the Music and History curriculum, had responsibility for the Green School’s Programme and ran annual Book Week events and fairs.

When she and her husband decided to move internationally, they joined BISS Puxi, Shanghai and Ms Morgan worked in Key Stage One. Whilst there, Ms Morgan facilitated Teacher Learning Communities for staff’s professional development across different stages of the Primary school.

Ms Morgan and her husband decided to move closer to home and joined BIS Abu Dhabi in 2015, staying with Nord Anglia. She worked in Year 1, leading a team of nine teachers before departing to have her two children. Ms Morgan did some supply work for a variety of private primary schools in Abu Dhabi during her leave. She can confidently say that BIS Abu Dhabi has the most exceptional standards for teaching and learning in Abu Dhabi. Ms Morgan is now returning to full time work with BIS Abu Dhabi and looks forward to helping a new cohort of students develop to their full potential.

Ms Morgan is a proud Irish woman and hopes to raise her children to speak the language and take an interest in the culture of the nation. Life with two very young children is extremely busy, and Ms Morgan spends most of her time indulging in their interests. When Ms Morgan does have her own free time she likes to read, listen to podcasts and craft. She is passionate about travelling and enjoys learning about new cultures.

Nord Anglia Education has an outstanding global reputation and Ms Morgan has been fortunate to have been with the company since 2011. BIS Abu Dhabi has grown in success year after year, and stands out for its welcoming and warm community. Ms Morgan is proud to be a part BIS Abu Dhabi and privileged to teach the fantastic cohort of students the school attracts.
