I completed a BSc in Multimedia Computing from the University of Gloucestershire in 2003 before studying for my PGCE in ICT in 2004, completing it in 2005. In 2020, I completed a National Professional Qualification for Senior Leaders (NPQSL) focusing on the use of data and intervention techniques to close the gap in student learning.
Having worked for Nord Anglia previously at Regents International School Pattaya, I have seen first-hand the outstanding impact collaboration has on students’ experiences in the classroom, whether that be MIT, Julliard, UNICEF or the Global Classroom. I love the fact that BIS Abu Dhabi has a holistic approach to student development and alongside the fantastic reputation of the school, staff and children, I was over the moon when the opportunity came up and jumped at the chance to join this fantastic school and also call the U.A.E. my home.
I am very passionate about Computing and the impact technology can have on teaching and learning. I believe that learning is about challenging ourselves first and foremost; I am a committed lifelong learner and am currently honing my programming skills in Python, as well as learning to play the piano.
After previously living in Thailand, I have spent the past four wonderful years bringing my children up in the beautiful Cotswolds in Gloucestershire where, as a family, we have enjoyed lots of walks and have been attempting to walk the Cotswold Way over the last few months. In my spare time, I love to cook, read, and play tennis. My objective at the moment is to get the ball over the net when serving, which unfortunately is not as easy as it sounds! I have recently taken up running and have just completed my first 8km race through the Cotswold hills around the village we live in.
As a family, we are very much looking forward to learning as much as we can about the beautiful architecture of the UAE, as well as the Islamic culture.
