I have been teaching for ten years and in that time been fortunate enough to gain experiences in both state and independent schools in the UK, I have held positions of responsibility such as Head of Physics, Deputy Head of Science, Head of Year, Assistant Housemaster and Head of Racquet sports. Academically speaking I have a BSc (Hons), MEd, PGCE and QTS plus I am a Google Certified Educator, Microsoft Innovative Educator, Founding Fellow of the Chartered College of Teaching and a Science Ambassador for the TES.
In my time as a teacher I have taught Science and Maths to Key Stage 3, Biology, Chemistry and Physics to Key Stages 4 and Physics to Key Stage 5. I love teaching because I can share my passion for Science and Technology everyday while seeking to explain the world around us. As Head of Science at BIS Abu Dhabi I enjoy sharing my passion for all things STEAM related.
I enjoy reading and blogging about my experiences as a teacher and searching out new technologies that lend themselves to an educational setting. When I was a little younger, and considerably faster, I played squash to a fairly high standard and hope to get back on court in the near future. I also enjoy playing badminton, football and golf when the time permits. My wife and I have just had a daughter and are looking forward to raising her in the UAE.
I chose BIS Abu Dhabi because of the plethora of opportunities available to pupils, and staff alike, while being part of a global-campus. Coupling this with a wonderful sense of community with family values at BIS AD, we are enjoying being part of the NAE family.
