A huge congratulations to the students that managed to achieve 100% attendance thus far!!!
Encouraging regular school attendance is one of the most powerful ways you can prepare your child for success—both in school and in life. When you make school attendance a priority, you help your child get better grades, develop healthy life habits, and ensure they have the best possible chance of achieving high grades when they leave Secondary School. Students who attend school regularly also feel more connected to their community, develop important social skills and friendships, setting them up for a strong future.
However, students who are absent from school frequently develop large gaps in their learning which will impact on their progress and their ability to meet age-related learning expectations. A student who drops to 90% each year will, over their time at school, have missed two whole terms of learning.
As a parent, you can prepare your child for a lifetime of success by making regular school attendance an absolute priority.
Last week NAISAK celebrated its inaugural Whole School Production, Cinderella. The show was a huge success and enthralled viewers all the way from the Foundation Stage to proud parents and teachers. Audience members were captivated by all aspects of the show from the superb acting to the creativity and professional design of the set.
'It was a great show. It made us engage all of our senses and was a perfect blend of dance, music and drama.' -Arva Year 10
'The stinky shoe was my favourite part.' -Majd Year 10
'The production is definitely one of a kind. It was evident that a lot of hard work and dedication had been put into it. I'm looking forward to watching more of such plays.' -Mysha Year 10
The show was the final product of six months of students’ hard work during their ECA time. Students focused on three disciplines, Drama, Music and Dance with some students in lead roles working in a multidisciplinary environment. For many of the students, it was their first real taste of theatre and what the process of preparing and performing a show is really like. It was an enriching and meaningful experience that exposed students to Art culture.
In addition to learning about theatre and performance, participation in the Whole School Production helped students to develop a range of soft skills including communication, collaboration, confidence, perseverance and dedication. In an ever-changing world, these skills are crucial to supporting young people on their journey through school and into a working environment.
We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the students that participated both on and off stage for this historic moment in NAISAK's history. We hope to see many more students audition and demonstrate their creative flair in next year's show.
