IGCSE Artists and Photographers complete their first unit of coursework with wonderfully creative outcomes, on display on floor 3 of the Gold Building

On display in the shared area of floor 3, in the Gold Building is an amazing exhibition. This collection of photographs, paintings, drawings and mixed media artworks have been created by Year 11 IGCSE Art and Photography students, in response to the theme of Distorted Portraits. It represents the culmination of months of work, including ideas development, observational practice and experimentation. This unit is the first half of their coursework. The work is highly creative, personal and informed by many sources, from artists’ studies to anatomical investigations. The Art Department is excited to present this small exhibition and congratulates our 33 Year 11 students on a wonderful collection of work.

Artist of the Week

This week our ‘Artist of the Week’ award goes to Beer in 8F. He has created an excellent piece of abstract art, using spray paint and stencils. His artwork suggests dynamic movement and a strong understanding of negative space.
