Our wall by the swimming pool has become slightly more vibrant this term, thanks to the introduction of the "Marvellous Maps: A Journey Around the World" project. At St Andrews International School Bangkok, our greatest strength is the rich tapestry of cultures and backgrounds that our students bring to the classroom every day. To celebrate this diversity, we invited our young explorers to put pen to paper and show us where they come from.

A World of Illustration
The project asked children to create their own illustrated maps, highlighting the countries they were from. The results are more than just geographical layouts; they are personal stories told through art. From the bustling streets of Asian metropolises to the vast landscapes of the Americas and beyond, these maps represent the "home" that each student carries with them.

Why We Map
The "Marvellous Maps" initiative serves a dual purpose in our primary curriculum:
• Cultural Identity: It allows students to take pride in their heritage and share unique traditions with their peers.
• Global Awareness: By seeing their classmates’ origins visualised on a map, students develop a deeper understanding of how interconnected our school community truly is.

Thank you to Mr Graeme and Khun Top for all the work they put into this wonderful project.
