Art and Photography students have gathered gruesome research during a field trip.

On Friday 18th October, 45 of our Year 11 St Andrews International School Bangkok artists and photographers visited Wat Arun and Siriraj Hospital Museum. The main focus of this field trip was to gather visual information to support their second coursework and mock exam unit. This year the thematic prompt is ‘Fragmented’. The intricate tiled surfaces of the Wat Arun chedis were a perfect source of inspiration for our students. It was wonderful to see them engage with the subject, whilst visitors to the temple were delighted by the drawings they made. Our second location was the gruesome Siriraj Hospital Museum, which houses what can only be described as human fragments. Whilst an extremely difficult and challenging exhibit, it is also a place that prompted students to think of less obvious responses to the chosen theme. The maturity and creativity of our students was impressive and made this a great St Andrews trip.
