PS Library Design Challenge #1

As part of our St Andrews International School Bangkok library refurbishment, we are inviting the children to design a new book return/ drop. Templates are available in the library and the closing date for entries is Friday 13th September. We can already see a lot of interesting and creative ideas coming in!

International Literacy Day - 8th September 2019

We will be celebrating UNESCO’s 52nd International Literacy Day in the PS Library from Friday 6th - Tuesday 10th September embracing this year’s ‘Literacy and Multilingualism’ theme by sharing ‘Stories From Around the World’. We hope the children will choose and enjoy reading and sharing stories which teach them about places and cultures which are different from their own as well as the importance of having good literacy and communication skills. The class teachers will also be sharing a powerpoint presentation for discussion and in order to introduce the children to this special day. Here are some helpful extracts with great ideas which you can even do together at home:

Lots of background information and more details can be found here.

Celebrating our new Library space

The children from across the school are enjoying the new library space and the opportunity to share books with their friends and teachers.  Parents are welcome to relax and share books with their children before and after school, but please remember that during the school day, this is a teaching space.

The PS Library is open from 07:00 - 07:45 am and 2:30 - 4:00 pm.

Children should be accompanied by a parent/guardian during these times. Thank you for your cooperation.
