There’s real excitement as we are back in school learning with friends and teachers face to face. A big thank you to STA Parents for ensuring that each student has taken their ATK tests and registered the results for a smooth and safe day at school. It was great last week to welcome so many students back to school. There was a real excitement about being back in school learning with friends and their teachers face to face. Bringing back different year groups on different days allowed everyone time to get to know any of the new procedures and ensure that each student had taken and registered in their moodle account their negative ATK test.

Last Friday many High School students completed their vaccinations with their second Pfizer shot at Medpark Hospital. The fact that over 90% of staff, teachers, age-eligible students and parents are now vaccinated reassures many about the strong position we have in terms of securing our school community’s health. Thank you to everyone for undertaking their ATK tests and completing the information on Moodle. Please ensure that you have taken a photo of your results as we will have to randomly check that everyone has evidence of their negative test results before they come to school. This evidence is important as it will be required by the Ministry of Public Health to track and trace in the event of any positive cases.

This Monday has been brilliant to see so many smiling faces returning to school following all the measures of mask wearing and social distancing. There certainly was a great atmosphere in both High School and Primary School with the whole school really coming alive.

We appreciate that some families wish their children to remain studying online through the VSE and everyone really wants children to continue to have a great experience. Some parents have indicated that they can see that the measures the school has in place are good and they would like to have their children return to physical school in the near future. However, since our reopening plan requires that we prepare physically distanced seating plans in classrooms and learning spaces, it is not possible for children to start without confirming a start date prior to arriving on campus. 

Nevertheless, we absolutely want all our students’ return to campus in a safe and sustainable way. If you would like your child to return to study on campus this term, even if you had previously withdrawn from school earlier in the school year, please contact our Family Support Team at support@standrews.ac.th and we can guide you through this process.

Community Recycling restarts and is extended

With the major Climate Change conference COP26 happening this coming week in the UK where we all hope that plans will be out in place to bring down carbon emissions we must all try to do our bit. Across the whole school, community recycling will start again with our recycling bins on both campuses. This week at the Primary School we are launching a partnership with Trashlucky, a community recycling program for our children to recycle their waste from home. Information has already been given to our primary students of how they can collect trash from home to then place it in the large Trashlucky collection bin in the car park.
