Juilliard Drama in FS3 - Not a Paper Bag

For our second Juilliard Drama lesson, FS3 have been exploring all the possibilities of a paper bag! Imagine letting your creative thinking take over, what possibilities could you imagine? Is it something you eat? An animal? A vehicle? Perhaps, something in your kitchen or bedroom?

We explored a few ideas, encouraging FS3 to explore new realms of creativity and to think outside the box. At the end of the session, we took turns to choose one of our two ideas to show to the group. We saw welly boots and muddy puddles, planes, burgers, cats and more!

At the end of the session, FS3 were introduced to a key Juilliard piece, where paper bags came to life! Well done FS3 for using your imagination!

Year 6 Superhero Day

Last Friday saw the Year 6 enjoy their Superhero Day. The students all dressed up in fantastic costumes, there were classic characters from Spiderman to Catwoman although many students decided to create their own costumes based on Superheroes they had created themselves in their topic lessons. They had written stories about these amazing characters and this was an opportunity to become that superhero for the day.

During the day the students created scale model cities that their superheroes would typically live and fight villains in. Each class's cities have been put together and Foundation Stage students have had tours of the cities in the Drama Studio. The cities will now go down to the Foundation Stage to become part of the play based curriculum and hopefully inspire the students to create their own characters and stories through play in the Super hero worlds. Well done Year 6 for a great effort.

Busking Week Begins

Busking Week has started and this morning was the turn of the teachers to perform their skills to the students and collect money for House Charities. There were dancers, ball jugglers, snake charmers and loads of musicians! What a talented staff we have here at STA!

Throughout the week there will be lots of performances to enjoy from various school music groups and on Friday students can bring up to 100 Baht to support our student buskers at break time and lunchtime.

Autism Awareness Day

Autism Awareness Day is on April 2nd. From now and up until the 2nd April, our STARs business enterprise group will be making their way around the school to sell Autism Awareness wristbands for 60 THB a piece. Proceeds will go towards Autism programs/charities in Thailand and will keep you up to date with this. The STARS students will be performing in the Yr 6 Quad during break time on Thursday 1st April. There are some wonderful posters on the R building to celebrate this special event on our school calendar.
