Our Success

Our inclusive and supportive environment motivates and challenges our students to make excellent progress throughout their time at the school.

  • St. Andrews students celebrate their results at 2016 Graduation.

Academic results

Our students achieve excellent grades in their examinations. In both IGCSEs (Years 10 and 11) and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (Years 12 and 13), our students consistently achieve above global averages, propelling them to good higher education institutions and beyond.

Our most recent academic results are as follows:

IGCSE: Over 80% of students achieved at least 5 A*-C grades, with 36% of grades at A* or A.

IB: Our average total points score for students passing the Diploma is 32 points, as it has been for the last few years. We are extremely proud of this figure, as within this average are a significant number of students who worked extremely hard just to achieve passing scores of 24 or 25 points - scores which helped them get into respected universities around the world on the courses they had targeted. We know that some schools may have told these students they didn’t have the aptitude for the Diploma, or may have pulled them from the course when their Year 1 grades still needed improving, but we believe that students should be ambitious, and we are proud of these students who persevered and succeeded. Not allowing these students to take the Diploma would easily boost our Diploma Average to a higher level, but that is not the school we are.

At the other end of the achievement scale, the highest attaining students at St Andrews regularly score above 40 points, ranking them amongst the top few percent of students in the world. The number of students attaining this highest standard varies from year to year, at an average of 8-10%. We are just as proud of these students as all the others, and we are confident that our Be Ambitious philosophy is inspiring all students, whatever their differences, to succeed in school and be ready for the next big step - University.
