Our school is honoured to host Jim Plunkett-Cole, who has embarked on an incredible adventure that will see him emulating the epic run of fictional character Forest Gump.

Jim started his journey on October 1st this year, with the goal of running 20,000 miles across the USA over three years. He will engage with thousands of children in schools along the route, highlighting the importance of a healthy lifestyle and promoting the benefits of daily exercise and good nutrition in the fight against childhood obesity.

Visiting major cities in every state, Jim arrived in Katy, TX today, to lead an educational assembly and participate in a series of ‘Talk and Runs’ with primary students from ages 7 to 11.

Another key driver for Jim is to motivate and inspire youth to overcome personal challenges. As an adult with Asperger Syndrome, Jim is passionate about raising awareness that conditions on the autism spectrum do not need to be viewed negatively.

“This is an amazing opportunity for our students and parents to meet such an inspirational man as he pursues this challenge. He truly embodies the school’s 12 learner profiles, which are rooted in our belief that through ambition and optimism there is no limit to what can be learned or achieved.”
