In addition to inspiring a love of learning for music, dance and drama, our collaboration with The Juilliard School develops students’ cultural awareness, international perspectives and skills for life. During the course of the first year of implementing our programme, we analysed data on the impact our Juilliard curriculum has had on our students. This is what we discovered.
Skills needed for the 21st century
Teachers reported that the programme developed a range of transferable skills such as creativity, self-confidence and problem solving.
An international perspective
Students reported that our embedded music curriculum with Juilliard made them think differently and understand the role of music in different cultures and history.
What our teachers say
Not only has the programme increased progress in music skills and knowledge, but also teachers reported impacts on other subjects such as English, maths, science and foreign languages.
