Performance Opportunities
Over the year, there are many different performance opportunities available to all students, including:
Joy in Performance Series
This is an informal performance series from 3.45 – 4.30 throughout the year, where students of all levels and ages are encouraged to perform and attend.
Performances can be something that students have been learning in an instrumental lesson, in or out of school, something that they have learnt in class or something that they have prepared themselves.
Winter and Summer Concert
These are formal concerts which are held in the Theatre, showcasing highlights accross the Performing Arts Department.
Senior Musical
Addams Family. The casting is done by audition in September with the show run happening in March. Students from Year 7 – 13 are welcome to audition.
Junior Musical
Jungle Book. The casting is done by audition in August with the show run in December. Students in Year 5 and 6 are welcome to audition.
Performance are also a regular feature of school and community events and celebrations as well as class and year group assemblies.
BISH Studio (Instrumental Lessons)
Numerous instrumental and vocal lessons take place each week with visiting specialist music teachers. There are also opportunities for students to enter for external examinations with the Associates Board of the Royal School of Music.
Enrollment for one to one instrumental lessons is through CHQ at the start of each CCA block: www.mychq.net/bishouston under BISH Studio (Music Lessons). Confirmation of lessons will be on Friday August 31st after which, the instrumental teacher will contact you directly to inform you of the timetable.
