Our academic programme in Years 12 and 13 (equivalent to grades 11 and 12) consists of two pathways, both with a number of options available. The first option is the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) and the second option is our Graduating Electives Programme (GEP).
The IBDP is a demanding academic programme, widely recognized to be the most challenging course of study currently available to students between 16 and 18 years of age and highly valued by universities throughout the world.
Our Graduating Electives Programme (GEP), is built around three compomnents; the BTEC Level 3 Business, two IBDP Courses and the GEP Core. Through this programme, students will have the opportunity via a number of electives to construct a personalized and rigorous academic portfolio that differentiates them when applying to university. Below you will see an outline followed by a summary of each of the three elements of our GEP.
Upon the full completion of either the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) or our Graduating Electives Programme (GEP), students will be eligible for our BIS Houston High School Diploma. As we have students who intend to study all over the world, we support our students in taking subjects necessary for the next destination.
Our students who intend to apply to US Universities are supported in constructing an academic portfolio that demonstrates compliance with the four by four requirements (four years of study of mathematics, English, science and a humanities subject). Should students have any additional requirements for entry to their next destination, the High School team will discuss how we can support with this.
