The types of activities in which students participate are specific to the developmental level of each student. These activities are always interchangeable and emphasise students developing their physical literacy and understanding. Below are examples of the types of activities for each Year group:
Early Years
Exploration of movement through play, including Swimming.
Years 1 and 2
- Development of Fundamental Movement Skills, including Swimming.
Years 3 and 4
- Refinement of Fundamental Movement Skills, including Swimming.
- Understanding of concepts through various invasion (Handball), net/wall (Volleyball) and striking and fielding (Softball) games.
Year 5 and 6
- Refinement of Fundamental Movement Skill, including Swimming and Track & Field.
- Understanding of concepts through specific invasion (Handball), net/wall (Volleyball) and striking and fielding (Softball) games.
Middle School
- Development of sport- and activity-specific skills through Handball, Swimming, Volleyball, Softball, Track & Field and Fitness.
