In IB Geography this week, students embarked on a new learning venture that we called Gallery Learning.

Students were asked to consider current Geographical models explaining Urban Geography, explain their application in real life and then evalualte them.

Successful IB Geography students are learning also the importance of evaluating systems and processes once they understand the theory, a key component of their Internal Assessment. To foster this higher order thinking skill, students presented their evaluated and updated models of Urban phenomena and fedback to their classmates.

Students were given the opportunity to view their peer's work prior to the mini-feedback sessions and consider the logic of the annotated models.

Visual learners and 'learning-by-doing' students benefit from these sessions, and demonstrate some impressive audience presenation skills at the same time!
