Year 12 Cooking Up a Storm

On Friday October 12th, the entire Year 12 class finished off their PSHE unit focused on nutrition by planning and cooking a healthy meal together as forms.

Each student participated in the process by bringing in the necessary materials for cooking, such as pots and pans, to the food and spices necessary to make the meal taste good.

Students were very creative and healthy in their food choices, preparing baked bean, cheese, and tomato burritos to home-made guacamole and healthy oat pancakes with fruit salad.

Overall, this was a great experience in trying to prepare something quick and easy, but healthy, with the hopes that they will continue these good habits in University, where many will have to start cooking for themselves.

  • 2 ripe/soft avocadoes
  • Half a red onion (finely chopped)
  • One clove of garlic
  • One Tablespoon of Olive Oil
  • Half of lime juice
  • Salt & Pepper to taste

Mix together and enjoy! Delicious!
