The Human Knot, Limbo, Rounders and Capture the Flag with Years 7, 8 and 9

Last week  Year 7, 8 and 9 ventured out for their first trips of the year.

Year 7 visited Park Stanisława Dygata for a fun afternoon of getting to know their peers and form tutors.

Luckily the weather remained dry with dark clouds looming throughout the afternoon, but this did not seem to be a problem for Year 7 students as they enthusiastically threw themselves into the planned activities.

It was great to see the students working as a team and helping each other with the different activities that included The Human Knot, Limbo, Rounders, Capture the Flag and a number of other team building activities.

Year 8 headed to Powsin Park ready to bond and interact with each other whilst having the opportunity to let off some steam after the demanding first two weeks of lessons. The large open areas of Powsin Park provided a great opportunity for games such as Capture the Flag, Ultimate Frisbee and Football Rounders - three games aimed at team building and collaboration.

As with our Year 7 students, the threat of rain did not deter our dynamic students, who participated enthusiastically and wholeheartedly in the events; nor did it dampen their spirits at the picnic lunch.

The afternoon provided our students with a great opportunity to make new friends and re-establish old ones; equally giving our new Year 8 Form Tutors time to learn about their new tutees' strengths and skills.

Year 9 started the afternoon with a hearty lunch at Lolek (chicken strips have never been consumed so quickly!), followed by a short walk to Pole Mokotowski where students took part in a range of activities including volleyball, dodgeball, rounders and a very tricky task involving multiple plastic hoops! When they arrived back at school, the students attempted to spell 'Y9' using just themselves! Great fun was had by all and it was a perfect way to end the week.

In Tutor Time on the following Monday, students reflected on their experiences and memories made during their various bonding activities and their responses noted that spending time together working as a team has made them better friends with their peers. They also agreed that the bonding afternoon was a worthwhile experience and are already looking forward to next year!

Thank you to all our form tutors for their hard work in organizing such an enjoyable afternoon.
