That is all that can be said of the confidence, courage and preparation of the students who spoke at the TedEx Youth event held here on Friday.

With wide-ranging topics and approaches but a consistently high quality of delivery and content, our students excelled and the audience were enthralled – well done to everyone who presented and HUGE thanks to those staff who organised the evening; Miss O’Looney and Miss John.

Book Week was kicked off with a non-uniform day in exchange for a book – needless to say we received an enormous number of donations, many thanks to you all for such a wonderful effort. This week we then continued the theme with DEAR (Drop Everything and Read) announcements each day where lessons stopped for a brief time to allow students and staff to delve into a favourite book; there is no substitute for losing yourself in a book, particularly during a lesson!

On a final note, we are gearing up for the second Tanzania Expedition and the Year 12s and Pre-IB students involved have been very impressive in their fund-raising efforts. In particular, Jan K and Dong Ho for their recent, very successful and supremely well organised Chess Competition – well done all.

Enjoy your weekend!
