Recently all students who are new to Secondary, as well as Year 10 and Year 12, have taken Cognitive Ability Tests (CAT4 Tests). This is a diagnostic assessment which helps us to set realistic targets that reflect each student’s academic potential, and is an important step in setting aspirational targets. Aspirational targets in each subject will be shared with students and teachers; then, after a further 5-6 week period of ‘getting to know our students’, both teachers and students will have the opportunity to review and revise these aspirational targets.
CAT4 results provide a broad and well-rounded view of each child enabling us to better understand how they learn and to provide personalised learning of the highest standard.
If you would like to find out more about your child’s CAT4 results please email me and I will be happy to meet and discuss these.
