Message from our Head of IBDP

Let me start by congratulating the IB student organising committee for a wonderful job that they did organising this year’s Studniowka.

The gym was transformed into a starry night-time setting and the school canteen into an elegant cocktail space with balloons and mood lighting. The student themselves looked spectacular and danced a floorless Polonez, that was expertly choreographed by our very own Head of Biology, Mr Peter Ormanczyk. Afterwards, we celebrated with the traditional Studniowka cake and it was nice to hear both parents and students had a night to remember.

On Wednesday this week, it was a real pleasure to meet and talk with so many interested parents at the IB Options evening. Despite the weather the event was very well attended, and it made for a very busy evening. The highlight of the evening for so many was to hear from the students themselves, both during the presentation and afterwards in the IB canteen. Our students are almost always the best ambassadors for what we do in our school and this night was no exception. Parents and students wishing to find the PowerPoint, 2020 IBDP Course Guide and the form can follow the link below to access all of the information

Finally, next Thursday 6th February, at 6pm a Year 13 group of students, as part of their CAS commitments have organised an IB Charity Concert that starts at 6pm in the IBLC. They are raising money to support a family with a child that has some very specific difficulties, and the money raised will hopefully help make the quality of the child’s life better. Having listened to the performers rehearsing, there is a surprising amount talent hidden in the IB and it will be great to unearth some hidden gems. Please come and support if you have the time. Tickets cost 20PLN and are available on the door.

With our Tanzania group heading out on Thursday this week, a History and English group heading to the cinema on Friday to watch 1917, and the Kilimanjaro group preparing for their departure on the 11th of February – this really has turned into another packed week in IB.

Have a great weekend.
