Message from our Principal

This week we have hosted visits to our school from Jayne Bennion and Sue Hill.

  • c

As you will know Sue Hill is our new incoming Principal who joins the school in August 2020. Sue is presently Principal of our Nord Anglia School in Hanoi, Vietnam.

Last weekend Sue attended our Burn’s Night event on Saturday evening where she enjoyed a traditional Burn’s supper and ceilidh with parents and staff. May I take this opportunity to thank Elaine Hiser and her team of volunteers who made Saturday evening’s inaugural Burn’s supper such a success.

During the working week Sue has visited classes in Primary and Secondary and has sat in many meetings with parents, staff and students so that she can form an extensive impression of the school. Sue has thoroughly enjoyed her time here in Warsaw and has asked me to pass on her thanks to all parents, students and colleagues for making her so welcome. We wish her safe travels as she leaves us this evening for her flight back to Vietnam.

Our second visitor this week was Jayne Bennion. Jayne is an incredibly experienced international and UK school inspector who led Nord Anglia Education’s Quality Assurance team for several years. Jayne visited us in this capacity in June 2017 where she conducted a QA visit along with our school improvement partner Jenny McWalter. Jayne is now working as an independent consultant working with schools in the UK and internationally and we asked her to visit us this week for three days to help us prepare for the summer term COBIS inspection. I am delighted to report that Jayne’s initial feedback at the end of day three was very positive and provided us with very clear objectives to strategise in the build-up to our COBIS inspection. She also stressed the considerable improvement and changes we have made in the last few years especially concerning the quality of teaching where she judged our teaching to now be consistently ‘Good’ across all year groups.

Finally may I ask for one final push today on our parent satisfaction survey. If you have not yet completed the survey could I ask you to try to find time to do it this evening since the survey closes at 11pm this evening. Please click here for a link to the survey.
