Each year, our Global Perspectives students must complete a Team Project which looks at a global issue of concern, in this case the problem of plastic pollution and how we as a society are handling the problem. This means that they have to find a way to raise awareness, and Mari, Matylda, Antonina and Kamila from Year 11 decided that they wanted to reach as wide an audience as possible about what they found out - and chose to use our school's media outlet to do this. Students must do months of research, present their findings and draw conclusions to the issue; because GP is an active learning subject, students then take it a stage further and offer solutions to their social plight. The students then incorporate their findings and methods of awareness raising into a final 'Outcome', which gets sent for grading. By listening to this short audio clip, you are indirectly helping our students to raise this awareness, and complement them on their journey to achieving good GP iGCSE grades - as well as facilitating them onto becoming ambassadors for global change and sustainability.
Therefore, please enjoy the short 3 minute-long article put together by the students (in a most professional and impressive manner, it must be said), and consider for yourself how we are dealing with this ever-growing issue of too much plastic pollution.
Thank you for helping our students to Raise Awareness!
