The students were then challenged to use a standard image of the School Football pitch (issued by Mr Shepley) as a backdrop to create a montage of sporting personalities, an idea inspired by the The Beatles’ Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club album cover.
The students were instructed to use appropriate sporting images and position them as realistically as possible, resizing and orientating the characters to create depth and perspective.
I’m delighted to say that the results from only 2 lessons’ work (no more than 90 minutes) have been very impressive. Apart from technical ability, the students have exhibited a really good level of creativity, eye for detail and not just a little bit of humour – all of which tells me that the students are enjoying their learning, even whilst they are confined to their homes – some as far away as New Zealand! Really inspiring work!
