Kasia's Corner

Being stuck in the house, you may have grown a little tired of seeing the same scenery every day.

However, you don’t have to- why not explore the boring CD collection you pass by on your way to get some snacks from the kitchen? Just me? Okay… Anyways, the CDs may be a little dusty by now because, let’s be honest, who uses CDs these days? So, let’s put them to good use.

This week’s challenge is to make you very own CD case hologram!

Using this contraption, you can project anything you want from your phone or tablet in 3D! May I suggest a jellyfish to pretend you are swimming in the sea? Or an alien and imagine an attack on the moon! If you cannot go outside, bring outside to you!

For a quick craft, you can simply make it using this tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJpmRnw9cos, but if you are willing to put in a little elbow grease, I encourage you to take it a little further with this type of hologram maker design: https://makezine.com/projects/transform-a-cd-case-into-a-hologram-illusion/. Or, better yet, come up with your own design!

As always, if you are a curious Einstein-in-the-making, try to find out how your piece of magic works, and email me- at Katarzyna_Murawska@thebritishschool.pl- with your creation to have it possibly displayed (and marvelled at) in next week’s Newsletter!

See you next week,

Kasia
