What is a Growth Mindset – and how can it help me succeed?

Using this time to develop a growth mindset will help you not only to succeed in school,  but also to learn from failures, be open to trying new things, to have the resilience to try and try again.


Having a fixed mindset might be holding you back or creating limits in your thinking about success and failures. Sometimes just a simple change in language can enable you to think more positively about something that is challenging you. Instead of thinking ‘I can’t do this’ and giving up, try changing it to ‘I can’t do this yet.’ It can have a hugely positive impact on your approach and help you develop the resilience to keep going, even when things get tough or prove challenging.
