The students have been discussing their learning with their friends and what they have achieved during their virtual school experiences. Be Ambitious is a phrase we regularly use with our students as we want them to achieve beyond what they believe is possible. We ask students to set goals for personal and academic achievement and encourage our students to continuously strive to achieve their next step. This is where our Personal Learning Goals are essential to our students to develop the skills to be a learner that can be resilient, a good communicator and adaptable. These skills are essential in enabling students to not give up when solving a problem or to adapt to a different situation.
We want to encourage the children to set ambitious goals and also think about what steps they need to put in place to be able to achieve them. This is developed through our IPC curriculum during our learning process when students develop their thoughts and ideas to build on skills and continuously reflect on what they need to do next to support their learning further. Our young students are full of creative ideas and can persevere when working together to solve a problem. This can be seen clearly when our Early Years students play together, and we want to develop the students to be risk takers when thinking about their future goals.
