Our Community

We want all our parents to join in with school life; to become members of our school community and make the most of their life in Warsaw. Our teachers, parents and students work together to ensure that every child has the right level of challenge and is stretched to exceed without limits.

  • PTA 2017

All parents become a member of our Parents’ Association (PTA) as soon as their child joins the school. The PTA is led by the PTA Committee who work together in collaboration with the school to organise monthly meetings, family events and fund raising activities. All parents are welcome to come along to the PTA meetings which provide parents with the opportunity to find out about upcoming events, but also ask about any aspect of school life.

Each class in the school is represented by a Class Friend who helps both the Parent Teacher Association and Teachers in disseminating information to the other parents in the class. A key role of the Class Friend is to help pass on information including birthday party invitations and family picnics. The Class Friend also ensures any new children who join the class along with their family, are introduced to everyone and made welcome to the school.

We are in the fortunate position to be able to support local charities in Poland as well as charities on a more global scale. Together with the PTA, we plan events throughout the year to help raise money for a variety of charities. In particular we have favoured those that focus on supporting children and their families who are less fortunate than ourselves.

NordStar is the charitable arm of Nord Anglia Education and was set up to help our local communities by doing what we do best – using education to help others thrive.

Our dedicated teachers have access to colleagues from over 20 schools worldwide. Nord Anglia University keeps our teachers up to date and helps them to  share ideas, learn from each other and continually improve the learning experience for students at The British School Warsaw.

As a member of the Nord Anglia Education group of schools, students have access to worldwide learning through our on-line Global Classroom and through special face-to-face events to bring our student communities together. Representatives from all of the Nord Anglia Education schools competed for a place on an expedition to Tanzania, set to take place in February 2014.
