One of the most meaningful elements of this year’s celebration was hearing directly from our students as they shared what literacy means to them in Mandarin, French, English, and Spanish, beautifully reflecting our commitment to cultivating a love of reading in any language. Their voices reminded us that literacy goes beyond words; it is a bridge that connects cultures, ideas, and people.
Throughout the week, students participated in a variety of engaging activities designed to bring reading to life. Mystery Readers sparked excitement and curiosity as special guests surprised classrooms with read alouds, while Buddy Reading Picnics created moments of connection and joy as students shared books together in a relaxed outdoor setting.
A particularly special highlight was The Magic of Reading, where our 5th and 6th Prep students took on the role of mentors, reading to our Infant Years students. These moments not only fostered a love of books in our youngest learners but also empowered our older students to lead, connect, and model the joy of reading

We were also delighted to welcome cuentacuentos and guest authors, who brought stories to life through engaging and dynamic storytelling experiences that captivated our students’ imaginations.
More than just a celebration, Literacy Week was a reminder that reading in any language has the power to unite us, inspire us, and open doors to new worlds.
