ABOUT OUR FOUNDER
Saint George School's rich history is profoundly marked by the transformative vision of its founder, Maureen Tejeda, who established the school in 1965 with an unwavering dedication to holistic education. Driven by a deep passion for nurturing future leaders, Mrs. Tejeda crafted an environment where academic excellence, personal development, and global citizenship thrived. Her approach was unique in its ability to honor traditional values while embracing innovation, creating a balanced and forward-thinking educational experience. Maureen’s ethos emphasized the importance of compromise and fostering a strong sense of family within the school community, principles that have become the cornerstone of Saint George School's identity.
In 1998, Mrs. Tejeda's son, Anton Tejeda, joined the school after gaining valuable international experience. His arrival marked a new chapter in the school’s journey. Anton Tejeda, who was appointed president in 2002, brought with him a fresh, innovative vision that built upon his mother’s foundation. Under Anton's leadership, the school embraced new educational methodologies and technological advancements, enhancing the curriculum to prepare students for an increasingly globalized world. His forward-thinking strategies further strengthened the school's commitment to excellence and innovation, ensuring that Saint George School remained at the forefront of educational development.
As we reflect on this remarkable 59-year legacy, we express our deepest gratitude to Maureen Tejeda for her pioneering spirit and to Anton Tejeda for his transformative contributions. Their combined vision has not only shaped the school’s ethos but also left an indelible mark on the community, ensuring that Saint George School will always be remembered for its exceptional dedication to holistic education and its innovative approach to learning.
