    Michael Bardsley

    School Principal

    Michael Bardsley

    Michael graduated from Manchester in 1993, studying Psychology (BSc) before moving on to Leeds to complete a PGCE in ICT. He was Head of ICT in York for nine years where he met his wife Nathalie before moving to Harrow International School in Thailand as Head of House.  In 2010, Michael and his family moved to the Netherlands, joining the British School in Amsterdam as Secondary School Headteacher.

    Head of Kamýk Campus

    Paul Baker

    Paul qualified from Oxford University in 1999. He taught in a primary school just outside Oxford for four years before moving to Prague in 2003. Initially Paul worked within the school as a Year 2 teacher, then Deputy Head and in 2007 became the Head Teacher of Kamýk Primary School.

    Marion Hamel

    Marion qualified as a teacher in 2000 at Sorbonne University, Paris. After five years of teaching English in a Parisian public school and at university, she was ready for a change and settled in Prague, which she finds both beautiful and peaceful. She has been working at PBS since 2005, where she teaches French.

    PE Teacher

    Marian Adamec

    Marian is originally from Slovakia and graduated from Comenius University in Bratislava. After completing his Master’s degree in Physical education and geography in 2002 he accepted a position in Denia, Spain. In 2005 he moved to London where he gained British qualified teacher status and continued his teaching career at a range of schools including schools with Special Education Needs departments. Marian joined PBS in August 2009.

    Conrad Armstrong

    Conrad is a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design (BFA Painting), and the Academy of Art, Architecture, and Design in Prague (MFA Intermedia Art). He has worked in the Czech Republic since 2004 as both an English teacher and art instructor.

    Adéla Balcarová

    Adéla was born in Prague, although she lived in the USA for several years with her family as a child. Upon returning, Adéla spent three years attending the EISP. After high school graduation she gained a Bachelor’s Degree in English and American Studies and later a Master’s Degree in English Linguistics and ELT Methodology at Charles University in Prague. She is currently enrolled in a doctoral study programme of Linguistics at the same institution.

    Nathalie obtained a Combined Honours degree in Psychology and Law at Leicester University in 1994 and qualified as a teacher (PGCE) the following year at Cardiff University. After teaching in Daventry, UK, for two years she then moved to York where she worked for nine years as Head of Psychology and Advanced Skilled Lecturer.
