Jane was born in Liverpool, England. She studied Sport, Health and Physical Education at Bangor University and PGCE Physical Education at Chichester University. She also holds the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH) awarded by the National College of School Leadership. Jane has been teaching for 25 years and has taught a number of subjects in 6 secondary schools across the UK and has been in leadership since her first year of teaching. PBIS will be her third headship. In her first headship in the UK she moved the school to good and results from 0 – 71% A*-C at GCSE in just 2 years. She is currently Head of Secondary in Kenya where she has moved the school to outstanding.
Jane has a vast array of experience in a range of UK qualifications including BTEC, GCSE and A Level. She was also a Principal Moderator for A Level Physical Education for 10 years which she only gave up when appointed to Headship. She has also trained over 30 student teachers and 10 Newly Qualified teachers; many who are now middle or senior leaders. Jane believes in supporting and empowering staff to deliver quality education to the young people in her care.
Jane has also successfully run a training and consultancy business where she delivered hundreds of courses to thousands of teachers, leaders and support staff throughout the UK. She also supported schools through improvement projects in primary, secondary and special schools. In addition, she worked with the national ADHD Foundation delivering training on all aspects of special needs and mental health. Whilst in post she authored and launched the national framework for ADHD Friendly Schools and has written articles for SEN Leader magazine. Jane is looking forward to working with all the staff at Libus and PBIS.
Jane was a national athlete and so naturally enjoys many sports. A serious ski injury has reduced this but she still enjoys swimming, cycling, walking and going to the gym. Jane also loves to travel and to relax she enjoys music, theatre and films. Jane is looking forward to absorbing the culture and life that Prague and the school has to offer.
