    Michael Bardsley

    Principal

    Michael Bardsley

    Michael graduated from Manchester in 1993, studying Psychology (BSc) before moving on to Leeds to complete a PGCE in ICT. He was Head of ICT in York for nine years where he met his wife Nathalie before moving to Harrow International School in Thailand as Head of House.  In 2010, Michael and his family moved to the Netherlands, joining the British School in Amsterdam as Secondary School Headteacher.

    Vice Principal, Head of Libuš Campus

    Caroline Troughton

    Caroline was born in Manchester, England. She studied Molecular Biology at the University of Portsmouth and then went on to complete a Masters degree in Forensic Science at the University of Strathclyde. Caroline taught in the UK for 3 years before deciding to teach internationally. She taught in China for 4 years and then in Mexico for 2 years before moving to Prague. Caroline has a lot of experience in teaching seniors and is looking forward to the challenge of working with primary to ensure continuity of Science across the school. Outside of work, Caroline enjoys Zumba, photography, scuba diving and travelling.

    Paul Baker

    Head of Kamýk Campus

    Paul Baker

    Paul qualified from Oxford University in 1999. He taught in a primary school just outside Oxford for four years before moving to Prague in 2003. Initially Paul worked within the school as a Year 2 teacher, then Deputy Head before being appointed Head of Primary at Kamyk. Paul was appointed Head of PBIS Kamyk Campus in 2017. Paul enjoys running to keep fit and is a passionate Liverpool Football and Wigan Rugby League supporter.  Paul has three energetic sons who keep him entertained during his free time.

    Paul Kurczij

    Paul graduated from Staffordshire University where he studied Philosophy and Cultural studies. He then moved to Slovakia where he worked as a language teacher and later became a senior teacher. After two years in Slovakia he returned to England to study for a PGCE at Bishop Grosseteste teaching college in Lincoln. He then spent four years teaching in his hometown of Boston in England. In his spare time he enjoys running and spending time with his family.

    Mark Haskins

    Director of Curriculum and Assessment Strategy

    Mark Haskins

    Mark is from Cornwall, England. He spent his early years growing up by the sea enjoying the many outdoor pursuits on offer in Cornwall such as gig rowing, rugby, golf and surfing, and still tries to enjoy them now. He has taught in the UK for six years and overseas in the Middle-East for four. He has been involved in data management and IT strategy for many years. As well as having a keen interest in sports, Mark is also a keen acoustic guitarist, particularly enjoying blues and flamenco. Mark has a young family consisting of two boys, and his wife also works at the school.

    Jonathan Ogden

    Jon came to Prague to teach in 2005 after a stint in Moscow and the North East of England.  Originally qualifying as a Primary school teacher in York, he has since worked across a range of year groups from Pre Nursery to Year 13.

    In his spare time Jon he likes to spend time completing a partially built house that he bought 3 years ago in the naïve hope that he would be able to finish it within a year. He also likes to spend time with his family and still loves wandering around the streets of Prague.

  • O'Leary Petra

    Petra O'Leary

    Head of ČBZŠ / Head of Czech Programme

    Petra O'Leary

    Having graduated from Charles University, Petra gained her precious life experiences in international companies, thanks to which she had opportunities to visit various countries all over the world. Petra speaks several languages fluently. She familiarised herself with the British curriculum at Riverside School. In 2001 she joined BISP, as an EAL teacher and soon developed the “Czech Programme”. In 2004 Petra successfully prepared the opening of the bilingual school (Česko Britská Základní Škola), which has been met with growing interest from the Czech public. Petra likes travelling. Her favourite activities also include sport; in particular artistic gymnastics.
