    Michael Bardsley

    Principal

    Michael Bardsley

    Michael graduated from Manchester in 1993, studying Psychology (BSc) before moving on to Leeds to complete a PGCE in ICT. He was Head of ICT in York for nine years where he met his wife Nathalie before moving to Harrow International School in Thailand as Head of House.  In 2010, Michael and his family moved to the Netherlands, joining the British School in Amsterdam as Secondary School Headteacher.

    Paul Kurczij

    Paul graduated from Staffordshire University where he studied Philosophy and Cultural studies. He then moved to Slovakia where he worked as a language teacher and later became a senior teacher. After two years in Slovakia he returned to England to study for a PGCE at Bishop Grosseteste teaching college in Lincoln. He then spent four years teaching in his hometown of Boston in England. In his spare time he enjoys running and spending time with his family.

    Head of ČBZŠ / Head of Czech Programme

    Petra O'Leary

    Having graduated from Charles University, Petra gained her precious life experiences in international companies, thanks to which she had opportunities to visit various countries all over the world. Petra speaks several languages fluently. She familiarised herself with the British curriculum at Riverside School. In 2001 she joined BISP, as an EAL teacher and soon developed the “Czech Programme”. In 2004 Petra successfully prepared the opening of the bilingual school (Česko Britská Základní Škola), which has been met with growing interest from the Czech public. Petra likes travelling. Her favourite activities also include sport; in particular artistic gymnastics.

    Art Teacher and Key Stage 3 Coordinator

    Mark Buckley

    Mark was a Head of Art in England for 7 years before joining the Prague British School in 2011. Having then led the art department, Mark moved into the pastoral side of teaching as a Head of Year, a role he thoroughly enjoyed for five years. He completed a Masters in Education in 2017, focussing on leadership and experiential education. Mark takes an active role in school life, and has also coordinated our DofE programme. Combining both his pastoral and academic expertise, Mark is now the Key Stage Three Coordinator for the Senior School at Vlastina. An avid runner, Mark volunteers with school running clubs and has organised our annual entry for the Vltava Run relay event. In his spare time he also enjoys triathlon, skiing, learning Czech, and especially loves time at home or in the park with his wife and their beautiful baby daughter.

    Adriana is from Argentina. As well as a degree in art, Adriana has a BEd. She has taught English and Spanish as well as primary school education. 

    Adriana has a Czech husband and they have one daughter. With a multicultural background herself, she finds the diversity of cultures at PBS fascinating. As well as teaching, Adriana loves reading, writing and painting.
