This year’s Graduation marked the end of High School for the 119 graduates in the Class of 2024 at St Andrews International School Bangkok. With nearly half of the graduates having spent their entire secondary education at St Andrews, the ceremony celebrated their academic achievements, personal growth, and sense of community. In just a few months’ time, the Sports Leaders programme at St Andrews International School Bangkok has seen remarkable progress. The participating students have all risen to the occasion and stepped into leadership roles, making a positive impact on their peers and on our community as a whole.

Two students from St Andrews International School Bangkok, Niio and Nina, participated in the Thailand Junior Water Prize 2024, showcasing their design for a water management system that reflects the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities.

St Andrews International School Bangkok students had remarkable success in the Virtual Young Musician 2024 competition, held by Nord Anglia Education Global Campus.

After careful and thorough assessment by key representatives from the Inclusion Quality Mark (IQM), St Andrews International School Bangkok was awarded the IQM Inclusive School Award with Centre of Excellence status. St Andrews is also the first school outside of the UK to hold this award, making this a special achievement in recognition of the exemplary leadership and culture in our school.

As Term 3 approaches, Senior students Pin and Siddharth reflect on their experiences in the IB Diploma Programme at St Andrews Bangkok. Siddharth, recently accepted to study Sanskrit at the University of Oxford, finds the IB Diploma rigorous yet liberating, while Pin, accepted to study Economics at Brown University, appreciates the collaborative nature of their Senior experiences. Both agree that the programme has provided them with more than just academic excellence, fostering global perspectives and camaraderie. Their success stories highlight the school's commitment to nurturing resilient global citizens.

In Term 2 of their Design and Technology (DT) curriculum, Year 8 students explored sustainable architecture, visiting two architectural sites to witness eco-friendly design in action. Engaging directly with architects, they discovered the use of unconventional materials like earth and rubber wood plywood, inspiring them to consider sustainability in their future designs. The excursion not only enriched their learning but also instilled a sense of responsibility towards environmental stewardship, shaping a promising path for their future endeavours.

We are thrilled to announce that St Andrews International School Bangkok has been selected to host the VEX Signature Event in November 2024. This prestigious international event, organised by the Robotics Education and Competition Foundation (RECF), will welcome 70 teams of young students aged 7 to 15 from the Asia-Pacific and Middle East regions.

The Today4tomorrow Organisation, was founded by students from St Andrews Bangkok and other international schools in Bangkok and the UK, is hosting an art exhibition fundraiser to support the Dhammajarinee Witthaya School, which offers free education and homes to underprivileged girls in Thailand. This year’s annual exhibition celebrates the work of 22 young artists who have curated a diverse show of traditional and contemporary media, including painting, sculpture, video and digital art.

Year 2 students explored "Sustainable Superhero Characteristics" tied to key learner attributes through weekly themed assemblies and integrated studies. Each week focused on a different attribute, from Curiosity to Commitment, culminating in a Superhero Day where students showcased their newfound skills and commitment to sustainability.
